Adventures in Antiquing Home Decor

A Blue & White Birthday

Hello 35!

Another year older, another year wiser. I’ve heard people say that the older they get, the more comfortable they feel in their skin as well as happier. I feel like that applies to me as well. I’ve consciously made it a point to try new things out of my comfort zone as well as start collecting what I like to call my “pretty little things”.

…cue the blue and white…

I celebrated my birthday last week in the most exciting way! It’s no secret that I’m a huge fan of blue and white porcelain & home decor . It’s been a huge goal of mine to ultimately own a set of blue willow dinnerware.

I made that goal a reality during a visit to the antique shop a few days before my birthday. I was so excited to set everything up as soon as I got home–as you’ll see the stickers are still on the dishes in the photo. 😉

Shortly after we bought the dinnerware, we decided to redecorate our dining room so stay tuned for that!

The blue and white design aesthetic is so classic to begin with but for me, the blue willow pattern is just so next level, elegant and well, truly timeless.

I’d recommend blue willow to anyone starting to collect dinnerware as it pairs so beautifully with any season’s decor. I’ve been on Instagram capturing many of my new purchases from the antique shop and I’m sharing a few of my photos.
